As you know we receive a bimonthly publication called National Geo-graphic Young Explorer. We usually access the website that accompanies the
interesting booklets and have discovered an excellent resource. The site provides access to past issues, games, video clips about positive character traits, and more. Please take a few minutes to explore the site: www.ngyoungexplorer.org

Looking ahead to February, I want to let all know that in 5th grade we do not exchange Valentines.  Instead, we will have an activity involving Valentine's Day.  The 5th-8th grade teachers are planning a "wear red" day, as well, for February 14th.  I will offer a surprise for every fifth grader who participates and shows school spirit!

The School Wide Program at the Orwell Village School is funded by federal funds.  The staff consists of only Michele Poalino after many years of more personnel.  This program helps teachers provide differentiated instruction in grades K-8.  Language arts and mathematics are the subjects of focus.  Each year both the classroom teachers and school-wide teacher collaborate to prioritize the needs of
students in each grade.
